Summary
Joslyn and Heylighen describe a conceptual network with multiple hierarchies and both formal and reader-interpreted meaning. Their technical pages distinguish the proposal from implementation: node types were not really implemented, collaborative status was incomplete, and only one link type was implemented at the time described.
Implications for practice
A proposed typed relation is not proof that its semantics were implemented.
Key distinctions
- A proposed typed relation is not proof that its semantics were implemented.

Semantic network puts into practical form the project's account of Self-organisation
Status: accepted · Relation: operationalises
The project authors describe this semantic-network implementation as an application of their self-organisation theory; this does not establish that every semantic network self-organises.

Explicit semantics formalises the node, edge and display vocabulary of Semantic network
Status: accepted · Relation: formalises
The claim concerns Nodica's RDF configuration and labelled predicates, not every semantic network.

Nodica represents explicitly typed knowledge as a Semantic network
Status: provisional · Relation: uses
This is a provisional semantic or practice crosswalk. It does not establish historical influence, equivalence, efficacy or universal applicability. Item-level source review and curator acceptance are still required.
